[00:05:05] THEY HAVE FAILED TO SHARE WITH US WHAT THEIR FINAL DECISIONS ARE, EXCEPT THIS ONE. SO FAR THEY WERE ORIGINALLY LOOKING AT THE ELIMINATION OF THE PARKING LOT. I DON'T KNOW WHAT THEIR FINAL DESTINATION OR WHAT THEIR FINAL DETERMINATION IS, BUT FOR NOW THIS IS THE PART OF THE CONSTRUCTION PROJECT IS WILL BE GOING ON IN THE NEXT TWO WEEKENDS. THEY HAVE $107 MILLION PROJECT AND THE REST OF IT, ACCORDING TO THEM, WILL BEGIN SOMETIME IN THE MID 2024. SO AS WE GET INFORMATION, WE WILL UPDATE YOU. THANK YOU, GUYS. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR OUR STAFF AND ALL THE HARD WORK YOU'VE DONE AND FOR ALSO GIVING US THE OPEN GOVT PLATFORM SO THAT OUR RESIDENTS CAN SO EASILY ACCESS OUR BUDGET. CONGRATULATIONS. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH. WONDERFUL. ALL RIGHT. WE HAVE NO RESOLUTIONS ON THE AGENDA THIS EVENING. SO NEXT IS ITEMS FOR COUNCIL ACTION AND DISCUSSION. [X. ITEMS FOR COUNCIL ACTION/DISCUSSION AND ITEMS OF INTEREST] DOES ANYONE HAVE ANYTHING THEY WOULD LIKE TO SHARE? I HAVE A JUST A REAL SHORT ONE. I WON'T KEEP US, I PROMISE. BUT MARK, MARCY AND I HAD THE HONOR OF REPRESENTING THE CITY AT THE WHAT'S IT CALLED, RISE FOR THE CHALLENGE, WHICH WAS THE ANNUAL SENATOR PHILIP LEWIS CENTER LUNCHEON FOR THE HOMELESS COALITION. THE CITY WAS A SPONSOR OF THE LUNCHEON AND IT WAS REALLY NICE FOR US, US TO BE THERE. THE LEWIS CENTER IS A CENTRAL POINT OF ACCESS FOR INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES SEEKING TO ACCESS AND HOMELESSNESS IN THE COUNTY. THEY CAN BRING IN 70 PEOPLE AT A TIME WHO ARE ALLOWED TO STAY FOR 90 DAYS, AND THEN THEY'RE TRANSITIONED TO PERMANENT HOUSING. THIS YEAR, 300 FAMILIES HAVE COME THROUGH. 100 OF THOSE HAVE BEEN CHILDREN. AND I THINK THE FIGURE THEY GAVE TODAY IS THERE ARE 4500 KIDS IN OUR PALM BEACH COUNTY SCHOOLS WHO ARE CURRENTLY HOMELESS FOR 4500 4500 IN THE PALM BEACH COUNTY SCHOOLS THAT ARE CURRENTLY HOMELESS. AND WE NEVER KNOW HOW MANY IN OUR OWN COMMUNITY ARE ONE PAYCHECK AWAY FROM THAT. SO YOU JUST CAN'T TELL. SO I THINK IT'S GREAT THAT THE CITY SUPPORTS THE HOMELESS COALITION AND IT WAS NICE TO BE THERE TODAY. WELL, YOU KNOW, WE LIVE IN A VERY FORTUNATE CITY AND WE'RE VERY FORTUNATE HERE. SO IT'S IMPORTANT THAT WE REMEMBER THAT WE REMAIN HUMBLE AND SUPPORT OUR NEIGHBORS BECAUSE HOMELESSNESS IS EVERYWHERE. AND WITH THAT COMES A LOT OF SOCIETAL ISSUES. SO WHATEVER WE AS A CITY CAN DO TO HELP IS GOOD. SO THANK YOU FOR SPEARHEADING THAT, ROCHELLE, AND WE'LL DO IT AGAIN. WELL, MAYBE YOU'LL DO IT AGAIN NEXT YEAR. ALL RIGHT, MARCY. I JUST WANT TO SAY, I KNOW WE PASSED THE BUDGET, BUT I WANT TO THANK ALL OF YOU GUYS FOR DOING EVERYTHING THAT YOU'VE DONE TO KEEP US VERY FISCALLY RESPONSIBLE. THANK YOU, MARK. I KNOW IT'S YOUR LAST BUDGET MEETING FOR BEING PERSISTENT AND CONSISTENT WITH YOUR ALL OF YOUR BUDGET COMMENTS AND THE BUDGET. I ALSO KNOW THEY'RE NOT HERE, BUT I WANT TO THANK THE BUDGET OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE FOR ALL OF THEIR EFFORTS AS WELL. AND THAT WAS REALLY IT. YOU KNOW, I'VE BEEN ASKED BY SEVERAL OTHER COUNCIL MEMBERS FROM OTHER CITIES THAT WILL REMAIN NAMELESS HOW WE ARE ABLE TO DO WHAT WE DO. AS MUCH AS WE DO AND STAY IN SUCH A GREAT PHYSICAL SPOT. SO THEY'RE NOTICING, YOU KNOW, I'M GOING TO SAY SOMETHING ON THAT. WE HAVE ONE MEETING A MONTH AND WE GET THROUGH IT PRETTY QUICK. NORTH PALM DOES TWO AND THEN ANOTHER FOR LIKE 8 HOURS BETWEEN THE TWO. IT'S RIDICULOUS. SO WE'VE GOT A GOOD THING GOING. THE MAYOR DOES A GREAT JOB. KEEP IT. KEEPING IT SMOOTH. SO, YEAH, OTHER CITIES ARE STILL FOLLOWING US AND WE STILL DO IT QUICKLY, PROBABLY BECAUSE WE STAY UP ON THE TOPIC AND STAY EDUCATED. I DON'T GO AS MANY MEETINGS AS YOU GUYS DID GO TO, BUT SO YOU'RE THERE WITH US IN SPIRIT? WITHOUT A DOUBT. I APPRECIATE THAT. YOU TEXT ME WHAT I NEED TO KNOW. I TEXTED. I'M GOOD. I'M SURE I KNOW. HERE AND THERE. NO, IT'S AN ABSOLUTE HONOR TO HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO REPRESENT OUR STAFF HONESTLY. AND I THINK WHAT YOU SEE OUR COUNCIL PASSING IS A REPRESENTATION OF WHAT THE STAFF OF OVER 600 AMAZING PEOPLE DOES EVERY SINGLE DAY. SO THANK YOU GUYS FOR HELPING US LOOK SO GOOD. WE APPRECIATE IT. THAT'S WHAT I ANSWER THEM. THAT'S RIGHT. ALL RIGHT. WONDERFUL. SO NOW THAT IT'S ALL WARM AND FUZZY IN HERE, I THINK WE'RE WE'RE ALL SET. MAX, DO YOU WANT TO? EXCEPT FOR MAX. GO AHEAD, MAX. DO YOU HAVE A REPORT TONIGHT? NO, MA'AM, I HAVE. I HAVE NOTHING TO REPORT. ALL RIGHT? THERE IS NO OTHER BUSINESS, SO THIS MEETING IS ADJOURNED. THANK YOU. * This transcript was compiled from uncorrected Closed Captioning.
